Lubos
Tomicek was born on 14th March 1986 in Prague, Czech Republic, to his father
Lubos and mother Ivana. He comes from a three generation speedway family
- his grandfather and father were both top international riders.
His home is in Prague, and during the racing season he spends much of his
time in Oxford, UK. He started speedway at the age of 12, on smaller bikes,
and moved onto the higher level bikes when he reached 14 years of age. He
started racing at 15 years old in the Czech national championship.
From 2002 he was racing in other countries as well as Czech republic and
by this time was international speedway rider.
From his first time on a bike he joined PSK Olymp Praha, his home team in
Prague. He made his debut in British speedway in 2003 for Oxford in the British
League Cup. The Oxford club gave him his break into British speedway. He
started in National and international meetings in Europe, aswell as taking
part in foreign leagues.
Away from speedway, Lubos likes to relax by taking part in and watching other
sports. He enjoys jogging, cycling, skiing and swimming. He also likes to
spend time on the internet, listening to his favourite types of music which
include Metal, Rock and Punk genres. |
